Once you add the new color yarn, you have to decide what to do with the old color. You have two choices:
1. You can cut the old color yarn, leaving a 5 inch tail, and weave it in at the end. Choose this if you will not be using the old color again.
2. You can carry the unused color up the side of the work, so that it’s there for you when you are ready to use it again. Choose this if you need to use the old color again and you don’t mind seeing a touch of the unused color at the edge of the work.
This video describes both options.
